The Workwoman's Guide, 1838 | |||||||
'The Workwoman's Guide' was published by Simpkin, Marshall and Co in London in 1838. It contains instructions for making a Workman's Hat. Details of this source were previously published in The Workwomans Guide to The Working Mans Cap, by Jeffery Stern and Edward Wakeling in 'The Carrollian: The Lewis Carroll Journal', no. 15 (Spring 2005): pp. 157. Information from Matthew Demakos. ********** Analysis The Workman's Hat These diagrams / instructions seem to me to have been produced by reverse engineering a finished example of such a hat without knowing how it had originally been folded. ********** Selected Pages ********** |
