This page attempts to record what is known about the origin and history of See-Through Designs, ie designs which make use of the translucency of the paper as a deliberate design element. c 1914-1918

This is an Austrian propaganda fold from the first world war period. The design is intended to be folded in half then held up to the light to create the second image (on the right). (The face of the figure on the right is corrupted in this image.) Information from Juan Gimeno.
