Papiroflexia Zoomorphica, Volume 2, by Vicente Solorzano Sagredo, 1962 | |||||||
'Papiroflexia Zoomorphica', Volume 2, was self-published by Vicente Solorzano Sagredo in 1962. There is a General Introduction to the work on the page relating to Volume 1. ********** Introduction to Volume 2 The work consists of: A Prologue by Tomas de Lara Part 4: Papiroflexia y Papirolas Papirological: A detailed analysis of Dr Solorzano's system of 'deltoides' (bases) derived from oblongs. Part 5: Realizaciones Papiroflexicas Zoomorphicas: Diagrams for various living creatures folded from oblongs. 38 designs of which 15 are cut. Part 6: Realizaciones Papiroflexicas Zoomorphicas: Diagrams for various living creatures folded from right angle isosceles triangles, kite shapes, rhombuses, pentagons, hexagons, octagons and circles. 29 designs of which 16 are cut. Part 7: Realizaciones Papiroflexicas Antropomorficas: Diagrams for various human figures. 33 designs of which 26 are cut. Part 8: Realizaciones Papiroflexicas Prehistoricas: Diagrams for various prehistoric creatures. 22 designs of which 19 are cut. Part 9: Realizaciones Papiroflexicas Articuladas: Diagrams for 2 and 3-part compound designs. 13 designs of which 8 are cut. It is interesting to note that Dr Solorzano does not use the compound method as a way of avoiding cuts but rather of modelling more complicated figures. Apendice Index of Neologisms Algunos Juicios Criticos (Some Critical Judgements): Including a list of magazine articles etc mentioning Solorzano's paperfolding, in chronological order. Bibliografia (Bibliography): There are several entries in this bibliography for books which are not otherwise known, and other entries are mispelt or otherwise incorrect. It seems unlikely that Solorzano had seen, or been influenced by, many of the books he includes. Of the designs in this book the ********** Analysis I have done my best to indicate whether the designs are cut or not but, without folding them through, the suituation is not always clear, and I may have made errors.
