| This
page attempts to record what is known about the history
of the origami design I call the Cut Kite-Base Elephant,
which uses cuts to create the legs and tail. Please
contact me if you know any of this information is
incorrect or if you have any other information that
should be added. Thank you. ********** 1958 As far as I know this design first appears in 'Origami: Book Two' by Florence Sakade, which was published by the Charles E Tuttle Company in Rutland, Vermont and Tokyo in 1958
********** 1964 A very similar design appears in 'Fold-and-Paste Origami Storybook' by Florence Sakade, which was published by Charles E Tuttle Company in Vermont and Tokyo in 1964.
********** 1968 This design also appears in 'Your Book of Paperfolding' by Vanessa and Eric de Maré, which was published by Faber and Faber in London in 1968, where it was is to be a traditional Japanese design.
