Thank you. ********** 1827 As far as I know this design first appears in 'Manuel Complet des Jeux de Société' by Elisabeth Celnart, which was published by La Librairie Encyclopedique de Roret in Paris in 1827, as a derivative design of the Cocotte / Pajarita made by folding the legs forwards towards the head. See final paragraph below. ********** 1858 The design also appears in this illustration by Anais Toudouze in le 'Journal des Enfants et Conseiller des Enfants', said to date from 1858. ********** |
