As far as I know this design first appears in 'Joujoux En Papier' by Tom Tit was published in Paris by Paul Lechevalier in 1924.

The design also appears in Booklet 1 of 'Images a Plier', a series of 6 booklets published by Librairie Larousse in Paris in 1932, but here dressed up as different vessels with additional bits and pieces, some folded, some not.
