| 'Hoketsuki'
(Wrapping and Tying) by Sadatake Ise was first published
in 1764. It combines two works, the 'Tsutsumi-no Ki',
which is about the folding of formal wrappers / tsutsumi,
butterflies and packages and the 'Musubi no ki', which is
about the tying of formal knots, both in the tradition of
the Ogasawara school of etiquette. A full copy of the work can be viewed online here. Only the opages from the 'Tsutsumi-no Ki' are reproduced on this page. **********
