The Cocotte / Pajarita in a Boat
This page is being used to record information about the history of the Cocotte / Pajarita in a Boat design. Please contact me if you know any of this information is incorrect or if you have any other information that should be added. Thank you.

As far as I know this design first appears in 'Manuel Complet des Jeux de Société' by Elisabeth Celnart, which was published by La Librairie Encyclopedique de Roret in Paris in 1827, as a derivative design of the Cocotte / Pajarita made by folding the legs forwards towards the head. See final paragraph below.

The design also appears in this illustration by Anais Toudouze in le 'Journal des Enfants et Conseiller des Enfants', said to date from 1858.
