The Cake Basket
This page attempts to record what is known about the origin and history of the origami design known as the Cake Basket, which is developed from the Cross. Please contact me if you know any of this information is incorrect or if you have any other information that should be added. Thank you.

As far as I know this design first appears, under the title of 'The Cake Basket' in 'Fun with Paperfolding' by William D Murray and Francis J Rigney, which was published by the Fleming H Revell Company, New York in 1928.

The 'Cake Basket' also appears in 'Fun-time Paper Folding' by Elinor Tripato Massoglio, which was published by Childrens Press in Chicago in 1959. The designs in this book are said to have been learned in Japan.
