any other information that should be added. Thank you. ********** 1845 There is a design for an Octopus made from an eight-pointed star in the Kan No Mado, which is usually dated to 1845.
********** 1931 A design for a paper octopus made from a frog base using cuts to separate the legs appears in 'Origami (Part 1)' by Isao Honda, which was first published in Japan in 1931. ********** 1960 The same design appears as 'An Octopus' in 'All About Origami' by Isao Honda, which was published by Toto Bunka Company, Limited in Tokyo in 1960. ********** 1964 The same design appears in 'Secrets of Origami', by Robert Harbin, which was published by Oldbourne Book Company in London in 1964. ********** 1968 And in 'Your Book of Paperfolding' by Vanessa and Eric de Maré, which was published by Faber and Faber in London in 1968, where it was is to be a traditional Japanese design. ********** |
