Thank you. ********** 1944 Designs for two octagonal decorations from squares, and one from an octagon, appear in 'Origami Shuko' by Isao Honda, which was published in 1944.
********** 1965 'The World of Origami' by Isao Honda, which was published in the USA by Japan Publications Trading Company in 1965, contains diagrams for two octagonal decorations, one folded from a square (left) and the other from an octagon (right).
