Thank you. ********** 1889 'Jeux et Travaux Enfantins - Premičre partie: Le Monde en Papier' by Marie Koenig and Albert Durand, which was published by Librairie Classique A. Jeande in Paris in 1889, contains some examples of braiding, some of which are made using connected strips or by weaving single strips onto connected strips.
********** 1902 There is a brief mention of braiding with connected strips in 'Guia Practica del Trabajo Manual Educativo' by Ezequiel Solana, which was published by Editorial Magisterio Espaņol in Madrid in 1902.
********** 1905 'Shukouka Kyohon : Liron Jishuu Souga Setsumei' by Kikujiro Kiuchi, Rokushiro Uehara and Hideyoshi Okayama, which was published by Shigebei Takase in Chiba in 1905, cotains several pages showing how to braid designs from connected strips.
