The Paperfolding of Madeleine and Raymond Chasles

The six booklets of paperfolding designs published under the title 'Images a Plier' in 1932 were ascribed to the authorship of 'M R Chasles', who is otherwise unknown.

Aurčle Duda has discovered that, in the back of the issue of Le Chef for 15th January 1936 (see here) is an advert for two books by Madeleine and Raymond Chasles, the first of which is 'La Bible et les Jeunes' and the second 'Images a Plier'. Of the latter the advert says 'from the same authors for Cub Scouts, 6 volumes each'.

It therefore seems that 'M R Chasles' in 'Image a Pliers' should be interpreted as 'Madeleine and Raymond Chasles'.
