Introduction

Cy Endfield was born in 1914 in Scranton, Pennsylvania and died in 1995 in Shipston-on-Stour, Warwickshire, England. He was a film and theatre director, writer, and inventor. See Cy Endfield - Wikipedia

Cy Endfield was a recreational paperfolder who played a crucial role in the linking up of paperfolders across the world in the 1950s by introducing Robert Harbin to Gershon Legman.

Chronology

1934

In his article in 'The Phoenix' issue 251 of March 21st 1952, Legman says about the Lotus, 'This gives ... the standard fold which I learned from Cy Endfield in 1934.' See below. The 'standard fold' is, of course, the Lover's Knot.
