The One-Piece Cube
 
This design is a bit of a mystery. As far as I know it only appears in a print by the Japanese designer Nishikawa Sukenobu (1671-1750) which shows ladies folding paper. This print probably dates to around 1720 but can be no later than 1750 when Nishikawa Sukenobu died.
